Satisfied and Frustrated Needs, Subjective Vitality and University Students’ Life Satisfaction of Physical Activity and Sports

This study is based on frameworks of the eudaimonic activity model and basic psychological needs theory, with two purposes: one, to prove validity a translation adaptation Basic Psychological Needs Satisfaction Frustration Scale; two, analyze how satisfaction frustration influences well-being university physical sports students, through sex. A total 830 University students an age between 17 31 years (M = 20.70 years; ±2.96) participated. The sample was divided into subsamples by random selection 50% cases, preserving relative distribution sex age. first subsample used validate Need Scale Spanish as spoken in Mexico (Study 1); second test proposed sequential theoretical 2). In Study 1, CFA supported structure six factors—satisfaction for autonomy, relatedness competence; competence (RMSR 0.04; RMSEA 0.046; TLI 0.93; CFI 0.94)—as well first-order factors plus second-order factors—psychological need 0.05; 0.055; TLI; 0.91). Both structures were equivalent men women. 2, results structural equations show good fit (RMSEA 0.90; 0.92), indicating that satisfied frustrated contribute unique way indicators (i.e., subjective vitality) life satisfaction), being conclusion, competence, relationships autonomy are essential nutrients positive performance this sample.
